lancia stratos alitalia (revell kit build)

Hi Guys

I'm a massive fan of the forum and members, and love 1/24 rally kits. After taking a long break from building I've started a new project

This is from the revel lancia stratos kit which I've decided to add some scratch built detail to. I'm pretty rusty, but i'm getting there!

Just wanted to say hi and to say how much inspiration I've taken from a lot of members posts!

Thanks very much! Yes, I like a challenge and so have opened up as much as possible. Lol

Doors so far have been near impossible to hinge. I’m using magnets to get around that which feels like a bit of a compromise, but I’m happy to go with it 😀

Take a look to the rear fenders....those of the kit are partially wrong in shape.

Nice the engine...where it came from?

I bought a 'reji model' resin kit for the engine a long time ago.
Spotmodel currently have the same here...

I also bought a fujimi lancia stratos kit for not much money at all. The same kit is linked here;

This had the same engine detail in plastic rather than resin, so I used the plastic engine in the end. This extra kit was the road version of the stratos in 1/20 scale

I still have the resin engine built up (but not painted) if anyone needs it for future projects, drop me a line!

Responding to Sandro's tip. I had some time yesterday and got straight to work on the incorrect fender shape.

There was always something not quite right about the shape, which I can see now the work is done.

Thanks guys for your kind words of encouragement!

I do feel like every time I decide to cut off another piece of the car I make 10 problems that I then have to solve

All down to the brilliant but unusual shape of the stratos!

It's slowing my progress overall, but is fun to try to solve these issues and learn something for the next build
