ciao e buon cantiere a tutti.

Paolo

ciao Paolo.

ciao, a preso.

Hi Paolo,

sorry that I am writing in english.I am from Czech republic and I cannot speak in Italian language and I need google translator for this web. At first I would like to congratulation to you, your model is really georgeous. I am building the same model as you, but my work is not so nice as yours. Your model is source of inspiration for me. You wrote, that you used some modifiactions as per instructions from Vincenzo Lusci. I have a book from this author for this model, I do not understand the text, but pictures are very useful. I would like to ask you, if you also have a plans for La Couronne from this author ? I found these plans on web, but the cost for it is about 30€. I would like to ask you, if you have these plans, and you will not need them more, as your build is finished, if you would be so kind and sell me that plans. Especially I need plans for rigging, becuase Mantua rigging is a little bit poor, I think.

If you will have a time, you can check my build log on:

Model Ship World :: View topic - STATIC: La Couronne 1636 by MANTUA

I wish you all the best !

Regards,

Michal

Hi, Michal!
have you ever tried here: A La Couronne tervrajza ? I'm sure that one of these plans is very interesting for Couronne's rigging ...

Hi Trink,

many thanks for a link. I already have these plans, I found them a some time ago on another site. These Corel plans are good, it is similar to Mantua ones. But I think that Lusci's rigging is more accurate, as I saw on Paolo's ship. For example, in Mantua's and Corel's plans there are no ropes ended on railing on the stern deck, while Paolo has many stakes there and many ropes are fasten to them. Also the 2 anchors variant with buoys is very pretty and I would like to make my ship in this way. It is the reason why I would like to see Lusci's plans, especially rigging ones (because I already have a hull built). I can buy these plans on eshop, but the cost is almost 30€, so I am trying to find someone who have them, but do not need them and is willing to sell them cheaper.

Many thanks once again !

With kind regards,

Michal

Oh, what a pleasure majq!
Nice to meet you also in this forum!
I'm in the other forum with the same nickname...
I think your model isn't very bad, I really like it!
I've already watched it on MSW: congratulation for your job!

Trink, many many thanks ! I have just responded to you.

Mario, thanks for your kind words, I think as well that my model is not very bad :) I like ships from 17th century, with nice galleries on the sern, such as Vasa or Sovereign of the seas. I will check your threads here and on MSW to subject your work to objective criticism :winker:

I would not like to mess this nice thread with our private conversations. Paolo created this thread for presentation his model and I respect it.
Lets continue with our communication through PMs or our threads.

I thought about creating a thread about my model also on this forum, but I am not sure if it will make sense, when this web is mainly intended for Italian community and I cannot speak in Italian language :perp:

All the best !

This forum is open to all people who wants to share experiences, matters, solutions, tips and tricks ... We haven't ever had a thread in english language before, but .... it's time to try this! Why not? So, if you like, you're welcome!

Well well!! ..and also an incentive to start "chewing" English.. :look: ..:Ok:

Paolo.

Mario97 10-02-11 08:29 PM

I think use English on an italian forum is a great idea for learning this language!

For us Italians, Englishis imprtant (in the modelling) for read English books like Anatomy of the ship and Conway's book.

I will be happy if majq open a build log in the subforum "navi e velieri work in progres", and you? What do you think about it?

Ps. I really like writing in English!

Well, you are very friendly here so I will start thread for my build on this portal, but I have to prepare some material - photos and text for start. So far I had only one thread on MSW, but I will srtart to contrubute here as well. I would like to avoid similarity of both threads, becuase it would be nonsense just to copy MSW content here. Photos from the previous work will be the same, I have not other photos than I presented yet on MSW. In the future I will try to make different photos for this forum and for MSW.

Bye for now ! :)

Michal
